The VASCERN webinar on the topic of “On collagen, the Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and vascular fragility: what’s in a name?“ took place on June 30th, 2021.
This informative webinar was presented by Professor Fransiska Malfait, Medium-Sized Arteries Working Group (MSA WG) Co-Chair, from Ghent University Hospital in Belgium. It started with a quiz that asked attendees to guess the genetic mutation causing the phenotype in question and continued with an overview of the various subtypes of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), including vascular EDS, the genes associated with each subtype, the reported vascular complications and the complexity involved in diagnosing EDS subtypes.
In case you missed it, or if would like to watch it again, the recording of this webinar is now available here.
Thank you to everyone who registered and participated in this webinar. We are also grateful to Professor Malfait for her excellent presentation and for taking the time to answer the many questions from the attendees at the end of her presentation.
Just so you know, we will be taking a break from our webinars over the summer but look out for new ones coming in the fall!
