Yesterday, VASCERN attended an information meeting on the European Joint Program on Rare Diseases (EJP-RD) and the research actions of the #PNMR3 in Paris, France! Very informative session that presented the 4 pillars and 20 work packages of the EJP-RD (officially accepted by the European Commission in August 2018 and that will run from January 2019-December 2024), the structure of its governance and how national mirror groups will ensure that national activities, strategies and needs are taken into account when annual work plans of the EJP-RD are designed.
This 5-year project aims to "improve the integration, the efficacy, the production and the social impact of research on RD through the development, demonstration and promotion of Europe-wide and even world-wide sharing of research and clinical data, materials, processes, knowledge and know-how and to implement and further develop an efficient model of financial support for all types of research on RD (fundamental, clinical, epidemiological, social, economic, health service) coupled with accelerated exploitation of research results for the benefit of patients."
