As a deliverable of one of VASCERN’s Work Packages (development of guidelines for optimal care of patients facing common problems not related to their rare diseases) the Do’s and Don’ts factsheets were developped in order to assist patients and the medical community in knowing the basic do’s and don’ts of common and emergency situations (e.g. delivery, anaesthesia, stroke, surgery) that need to be considered in patients with rare vascular diseases. The translation of these documents is made possible by the EU co-funding from the second year of VASCERN. They were then reviewed by members of the HHT-WG, in their native languages, before being published.

You can find all of our translated material under the new EU languages button on our homepage. This allows for everyone to select their native language and to see what documents or media are available in the selected language.

You can equally find all of the HHT Do’s and Don’ts factsheets at our website’s HHT WG page under the heading Do’s and Don’ts Factsheets (here) as well as under the dedicated Do’s and Don’ts Factsheets for Rare Vascular Disease Patients page under the heading HHT (here).

Do’s and Don’ts Factsheets for Rare Vascular Disease Patients Facing Frequent Situations have also been produced for Marfan Syndrome and related disorders, vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and Pediatric and Primary lymphedema and these documents are also in the process of being translated. The VASCA-WG is currently working on their first set of Do’s and Don’ts documents and we will inform you as soon as they become available.
